Jameson Wirtz is one of our agents, and he’s a really important part of our family here at Farrell Realty. Here’s everything you need to know about Jameson and why he’s a great real estate agent!
How did you get into real estate?
I was a civil engineer living in Houston, TX, and working all over the country. But my home, animals, and family were all here in Portland, so I decided to move back. After a couple of local civil engineering job leads didn’t pan out, I decided that real estate would be something I’d enjoy. Mark (owner of Farrell Realty) had sold me my house, so that was my connection to Farrell.
Why did you choose real estate?
I actually built two houses and did home remodeling in high school, so I already had a real estate background.
Plus, in the future, I would like to be working on property development, flipping homes, or building commercial properties. This seemed like a good first step.
What kind of buyer do you specialize in helping?
I love helping first-time home buyers. I know a lot about loans and about remodeling homes, so I can help guide people through many different situations, even though it’s not necessarily a part of my job.
I’ve had buyers who feel completely overwhelmed with the prospect of buying their first home, especially with Portland’s competitive housing market. I’m able to explain that it’s not that bad and help them figure out how we can do it together. By the time I finish talking to them, they’re a whole lot less intimidated about the whole thing.
I especially love helping people buy in North Portland. I even live in North Portland, just a few doors down from our office. I love North Portland because it’s a quiet, residential area with a lot of stuff to do.
Why do you love working at Farrell?
Because it’s so supportive personally and professionally. I love that it’s a North Portland institution. It’s easy to be connected to a community when you work at a place like Farrell.
What do you do for fun when you’re not working?
My wife, my six-month-old baby, and I like going out to eat. We try all kinds of places. We’re also kind of homebodies, but we love having people over for parties. Oh, and we like going to Mt. Hood.
In my spare time, I’m doing all the work on remodeling my 1920s home. Right now I’m finishing up all the trim and paint. I’m also restoring the home’s original siding (not an easy job).
We’re so glad to have Jameson as part of our team! If you’re ever in the office or see him around North Portland, be sure to say hello to him.
